The uninhabited island of Espiritu
Santo ("Island of the Holy Spirit") lies off the coast of La
Paz, and features an amazing array of wildlife, as well as some
of the world's most fantastic beaches. A UNESCO world
heritage site, Espiritu Santo is one of the biggest ecotourism
attractions in the Baja peninsula of Mexico. It's largest
beach, Ensenada Grande, was named the Most Beautiful Beach in
Mexico by The Travel Magazine and as one of the 12 best
beaches in the world. The authors of the article described
it as having "seas the colour of Curaçao, wedding-cake white
sands, nail-varnish pink volcanic cliffs and inhabited by clouds
of yellow butterflies and the odd boojum tree".
This unique tour will get you way
off the beaten track, as we take you through mountain villages
on the way to Marina Costa Baja in La Paz, where we'll board a boat
and head for LosIslotes
were you will have the chance to experience the most amazing
snorkeling of all with lots of friendly sea lions.
Enjoy lunch on famed Ensenada
Grande beach on Isla Espiritu Santo, where we'll have 2.5 hours
of free time to swim, snorkel, kayak on the bay, or hike around
and explore. When it's time to return to the mainland, we'll return to La Paz.
Then it's off down the famous Pacific Highway, enjoying one of
the Baja's famous sunsets along the way.
Runs: Monday through Thursday at 6:00AM, March through
October only.
Duration: 14 Hours approximately.
